About Calm & Confident on Leash
Most people think a good walk requires arm strength to keep the dog in line. Actually, yanking back just teaches your dog to pull harder against the resistance. Instead, we teach you to change direction or use specific focus cues. This makes your dog want to check in with you rather than just dragging you along for the ride.
Leash walking is often the most stressful part of the day for dog owners in Bengaluru. Between city traffic, busy sidewalks, and endless smells, it is overstimulating for any doggo. When a dog pulls, it is usually because they are excited to get to a spot or simply don't know how to walk at your pace. We move away from punishment tools like choke chains and focus on positive reinforcement.
Our Training Philosophy
We believe in communication, not force. Our loose leash walking modules involve:
- Engagement Cues: Teaching your dog that looking at you is more rewarding than lunging at a passing bike or another dog.
- Directional Changes: Using U-turns to teach your dog that pulling causes the walk to stop or change course. This quickly shows them that the fastest way to get to their destination is by keeping the leash loose.
- Threshold Management: Teaching your dog to wait patiently at doors and gates before moving out, which sets the tone for the entire walk.
Why Practice This With Us?
Training happens in your real world. Whether you live in a quiet apartment complex or near a busy main road in Indiranagar or Koramangala, we adapt our techniques to your environment. We help you identify your dog's specific triggers and teach them how to stay calm and confident, regardless of the distractions around them. It is not just about the walk; it is about building a connection where your dog chooses to stay close because they trust and respect your guidance.
Hoo-Dog
Hi, we are Hoo-Dog. We believe the leash should not be the only thing keeping your dog by your side. Our goal is to make every walk a conversation between you and your doggo, where they choose to stay close because they want to, not because they are forced.
