About Behind the Scenes: My Process & Passion
People always ask me how my stain gets that deep, dark colour—it’s not magic, it’s my homemade organic henna. I mix it using triple-sifted Sojat powder and organic lavender oil, specifically for my brides so it’s safe for sensitive skin. When you sit in my chair, you’re not just getting a pattern, you’re getting a process I’ve refined for 8 years to make sure the colour really pops for your big day.
My Process: From Henna Paste to Perfect Stain
I treat every bridal mehendi like it's my own. When I say 'homemade,' I mean it. I prepare my henna paste from scratch, usually 24 hours before your event to ensure the dye release is at its peak. I avoid all chemical cones because I want your skin to be safe, especially when you have so many other wedding stresses.
The Application
For my intricate designs—like the Pakistani styles or heavy Indo-Arabic fusion—I pay attention to the smallest details. If you've booked a 'Royal' package, I work with a senior artist so we can handle hands and feet simultaneously. This means you aren't sitting for 8+ hours; we coordinate our flow so you can actually relax during the process.
The Stain Secret
Getting that dark stain isn't just about the henna paste. It's about aftercare. Once the design is done, I apply a lemon-sugar sealant to prevent flaking. I also guide you on how to keep your mehendi warm (the natural heat helps!) and suggest leaving it on for 6-8 hours. The colour develops over 2-3 days, so if you are planning your mehendi ceremony, keep that timeline in mind for your final look on your wedding day.
Why I Do This
Honestly? I love the transformation. Seeing a blank palm turn into a detailed piece of art is why I’ve been doing this for over 8 years. Whether it's a simple mandala for an engagement or a full sleeve for a bridal event, I am just happy to be part of your story.
Saniya Khan
Hi, I'm Saniya! I’ve been doing this for 8 years, and honestly, seeing that first stain develop is still my favourite part of the wedding journey. I pour my heart into every design, whether it's a simple engagement look or a full-blown bridal sleeve.
