When I am shooting a reception entrance or a ring exchange, I often say, 'Matte matte, eradane take' (Again and again, second take). I do this because capturing that genuine look of love often requires a little patience and a second go, especially when we are navigating complex ballroom lighting or the natural nerves that come with being in front of a crowd.
Reception and engagement photography is less about the rituals and more about the atmosphere. For these events, I prioritize lighting that complements the decor, whether it is the warm glow of fairy lights in an outdoor setting or the dramatic, controlled lighting required for a grand ballroom entry.
