About Glamorous Evenings: Engagements & Receptions
You’ll see those grand fireworks and poolside entries in my gallery, but what I’m actually working on is the timing of the shot. If I’m not standing in the exact right spot when the pyro goes off or the confetti hits, the moment is lost. I coordinate with your event team to make sure I’m perfectly positioned for that cinematic capture without getting in the way of your guests having a good time.
Reception and engagement photography in Mumbai brings its own set of challenges, especially with low-light environments and rapidly changing event flows. My approach is to move with the energy of the room rather than forcing you to pause for static poses.
Capturing Movement and Light
Low light, heavy decor, and moving subjects mean I need to be smart with my lighting gear. I use high-speed prime lenses and subtle off-camera flash setups to keep the images sharp without blinding your guests. Whether it is a cocktail night at a suburban hotel or an outdoor engagement under the stars, I balance the ambient venue lights with the subject to ensure your emotions stay in focus.
The Candid Balance
For receptions, I aim for a 70/30 split between candid moments and requested portraits. The 70 percent is the life of the party—the laughter during toasts, the energy on the dance floor, and those stolen glances between you two. The 30 percent covers the formal shots you actually need for the family album.
Planning Your Coverage
I recommend we spend 15 minutes before the guests arrive to get some portraits while the decor is fresh and the lights are perfect. After that, I blend into the background. I document your story as it unfolds, from the rings exchanging hands to the final song on the dance floor. If you have specific rituals or cultural ceremonies during your reception, let me know in advance so I can prepare for the right angles.
