About Contemporary, Jazz & Technique
Ever wonder why your contemporary lines look messy? It is usually a lack of a solid ballet base. We do not just teach choreography here; we obsess over the technique that makes those moves clean. Whether you are joining a drop-in session or a weekend intensive, expect us to correct your posture, refine your feet, and push you to understand the anatomy of a movement, not just copy a video off the internet.
Building a Real Foundation
Modern Contemporary is not just about floor work and abstract expressions. Like the pioneers of the form believed, if ballet did not raise you, contemporary will not save you. Our workshops are designed to break that cycle. We strip back the performative layers to focus on what actually makes a dancer: body isolation, musicality, and core strength.
What You Will Actually Do
We split our focus based on what you need:
- Technical Intensives: These are for the dancers who want to level up. We cap our weekend batches at 20 students. This is where we break down specific techniques, work on your posture, and give you the personal feedback you rarely get in massive, generic group classes.
- Modern & Jazz Masterclasses: We dive into the history and discipline behind these styles. From street jazz to lyrical contemporary, we connect the movement to the music. You will not just learn steps; you will learn how to carry your body through space.
