Beyond the Badge: Handcrafted Ceramic Art and Prints
My pottery and art journey goes beyond just badges. Here is where I mix clay, memories, and a bit of philosophy into pieces that bring a quiet joy to your space.
This video is a little collection of the different kinds of art I make and sell at local markets. You can see my embroidered badges, illustrated postcards, and hand-built ceramic pieces all together. It's always so rewarding to share my work in person.
A closer look at my handmade ceramic cat badges from the Clayfest market. Each one is sculpted from clay, fired, and then hand-painted with a unique, quirky face. They are a fun, three-dimensional piece of wearable art.
About Beyond the Badge: Art & Ceramics
When I open the kiln, I am never quite sure what the fire has done to my pieces, but that is the beauty of it. Each ceramic vase or illustrated print you see here has its own quirks, from uneven glazing to hand-drawn lines that would not survive a factory mold. If you are looking for mass-produced uniformity, my studio probably is not the right fit, but if you want something that feels like it has a soul and a story, let us talk.
My creative world is a reflection of the things I hold close, like the winter sun and small garden moments. While I am known for my wearable art, this collection is where you will find my larger, slower experiments. This includes hand-built ceramic planters, quirky vases, and my memory-inspired art prints that often travel with me to markets like Clayfest and Merry Makers.
Why Hand-Built Ceramics?
I prefer hand-building over wheel-thrown techniques for most of my work because it allows for more organic, human shapes. You will see uneven edges, unique textures, and little imperfections that come from clay being worked entirely by hand. These pieces are meant to hold your small joys, whether it is a flower from your morning walk or just sitting on your desk as a reminder to slow down.
Illustration and Paper Goods
My prints are not just designs; they are visual stories. I often sketch scenes from old movies, poetry, and memories, mixing them with English and Devanagari script. Each postcard and print is treated with the same care as my ceramic work. If you have a memory you want to capture in an illustration, I do take on custom commissions. We can discuss your brief, sketch it out together, and I will bring it to life on premium paper or canvas.
Everything you see here is made to be lived with, not just displayed. If you love slow days and things that come with a history, you will feel at home with these pieces.
