About Behind the Scenes
When I am on set or at a high-pressure event, hair must withstand humidity, camera lights, and hours of movement without failing. I do not just create a look, I engineer it to last, providing constant on-site monitoring and quick touch-ups between takes so the style remains perfect from the first shot to the last.
Professional styling is more than just the final result, it is about the reliability of the look under changing conditions. Whether we are working on a commercial campaign in a studio or managing a high-profile event at a venue in Delhi, the goal is consistency. My process begins with a quick discussion to align the hairstyle with the mood board, ensuring that the texture and structure match the garments and the creative direction.
The Technical Side of Styling
For editorial photography, I focus on control. This means managing fly-aways for macro beauty shots and using professional-grade products like Schwarzkopf Osis to ensure hold without visible residue. When a project requires architectural shapes or voluminous curls, I use internal support techniques such as hidden padding and wire framing to maintain the silhouette, regardless of how long the shoot lasts.
On-Set Collaboration
My role extends to working closely with makeup artists and stylists to ensure the overall look is cohesive. On-set, efficiency is key. During an 8-hour editorial shift, I am responsible for managing look changes—efficiently switching from open, textured waves to a sleek, polished bun—while ensuring the hair remains healthy and styled correctly. I provide standby monitoring to adjust placement for different camera angles and ensure that every detail, from pearl placement to pin concealment, is handled before the camera clicks.
