The secret to a perfect updo isn't just the final pin or flower placement; it's the foundation. For most of my clients, I start with careful root crimping and hair padding to ensure the style stays put through hours of dancing and rituals. If you have thin hair or want that 'big bun' look for a traditional saree, we can use synthetic fillers to get the volume right while keeping it weightless and comfortable.

I believe an updo should highlight your features without feeling like a tight helmet. Whether we are aiming for a classic South Indian look with fresh mogra or a contemporary, clean-finish bun for a cocktail party, the priority is always comfort and security.

The Styling Process

• Traditional Styles: For wedding ceremonies, I love working with fresh jasmine (mogra) or roses. These styles often require a robust base—using hair donuts and heavy-duty pins—so the weight of the flowers and jewelry doesn't drag the hair down.
• Modern & Sleek: For reception or Sangeet looks, I focus on a mirror-shine finish. This involves using high-quality wax and setting sticks to tame every flyaway, creating that 'glass hair' aesthetic that looks amazing in flash photography.
• Dancing Proof: If your event involves a lot of movement, I use a specific pinning technique where I secure your hair strand by strand. This makes your bun 'dance-proof' while still looking soft and elegant.

Travel & Preparation

I am based in Mumbai but travel anywhere for weddings. For destination events, please let me know your timeline early so I can manage my travel. When we book, I will share a checklist for your hair prep, including what to wash your hair with and how to handle extensions if you're using them. If you have a specific vision or an accessory you've bought, bring it along—I love incorporating personal touches into the final design.
