Custom FPV Drone Builds & Tech Setup
I don't use off-the-shelf gear. I design custom FPV rigs to chase shots that standard drones cannot handle. Here is a look at my tech, my builds, and the setup behind those high-speed commercial shots.
On location holding my custom-built cinelifter drone, which is designed to carry heavier cinema cameras like the Blackmagic Pocket series for high-quality commercial shoots.
Geared up and ready to fly at an old fort. My backpack carries everything I need to get the shot, no matter the location.
A silhouette of me in my element, standing in the thick of tire smoke during a night drift shoot. Capturing these moments requires being right in the action.
This shot captures it all: me at the controls, the drift car in action, and my FPV drone hovering nearby, ready to dive in for the chase.
Behind the scenes at a desert race, with my drone perfectly positioned above a Polaris ATV as it navigates a sandy turn.
My FPV drone in the air, lining up a shot of a red Jeep Wrangler kicking up dust in the Bikaner desert.
A wider BTS shot showing my drone tracking a Polaris ATV from behind during an off-road race.
Freezing a moment of peak action. Here you can see my drone capturing a Polaris ATV getting major airtime over a dune.
A great look at how close my FPV drone gets to the action, flying right in the dust cloud of a Jeep during a desert rally.
My drone hovering over the track at the Rally of Chamba, capturing the fastest rider as he speeds through the course.
About Custom Tech & Behind The Scenes
I do not fly store-bought drones for professional shoots because they cannot handle the intensity. Every cinelifter in my bag is a custom-built rig, specifically tuned for heavy payloads like Blackmagic Pocket cameras. I build for stability and speed, ensuring zero vibration even when chasing cars at 120kmph, so you get clean footage, not shaky mess.
My gear is an extension of my flying style. If it moves fast, I have a rig built to catch it. I maintain a fleet of drones, ranging from tiny cinewhoops for tight indoor spaces to heavy-lift X8 octocopters that carry cinema-grade cameras for TVCs and music videos.
Why Custom Matters
Off-the-shelf drones have hard limits. When you need to fly inches from a drifting car in a cloud of smoke or follow a rally bike through a forest trail, you need custom tuning. My rigs are built with a 'Majhe Aale' spirit—tough, reliable, and modded for the specific environment. Whether it is dusty desert racing or cold high-altitude shoots, I have electronics that are dust-proofed and optimized for the conditions.
On Set Reliability
I treat my equipment with the same seriousness as my piloting. When I am on set, I bring a full backup drone identical to my primary rig. If a motor burns out or a battery fails, I do not waste your time; I switch, recalibrate, and keep shooting. I also run a continuous battery rotation station, which means I do not need to pause production for hours to charge gear.
The Logistics
My setup includes HD live monitoring for directors and DPs so you can see exactly what I am shooting in real time. We handle the heavy raw data transfers on-site, ensuring your media team has what they need for same-day edits. If your project has a unique angle that seems impossible to capture, hit me up. Let’s talk about the rig you need to get the shot.
Gavakshit Verma
I live for the adrenaline of chasing fast-moving subjects with custom-built gear that store-bought drones just cannot match. If you have a crazy vision for your film or commercial, I have the rigs and the piloting experience to make it happen.
