Behind the Lens: My Drone Gear and Creative Process
A look at the technology and creative craft that brings your property to life. From drone rigs to color grading, here is how I capture those moments.
A quick size comparison between two of my FPV drones, the Mobula 8 and the DJI Avata 2. Choosing the right drone is crucial for getting the perfect shot, whether it's for tight indoor spaces or expansive outdoor scenes.
A simple before-and-after transition showing the power of color grading. I took a standard shot of a temple on a hill and enhanced the sky and foliage to create a dramatic, golden-hour effect.
This is a close-up of my custom rig, mounting a Caddx Vista kit onto a Mavic 2 Pro drone. This setup allows me to fly a high-quality cinematic drone with the immersive view of FPV goggles.
A detailed look at the iFlight strap securing the FPV transmitter to the drone. Reliable gear is essential for ensuring smooth and safe flights during a property shoot.

About Behind the Lens
When shooting indoors, I rely on the DJI Avata 2 for those agile, continuous fly-throughs that give viewers a true sense of your space's layout. For exterior landscapes and architectural details, I switch to the Mavic 2 Pro with a custom FPV modification. Mixing these setups ensures your property looks cinematic from the inside out, without the shaky footage or perspective distortion often seen in standard drone work.
The Setup
Great visuals aren't just about the camera; they are about using the right rig for the right space. My custom setup includes a Caddx Vista kit mounted on my Mavic 2 Pro. This allows me to use FPV goggles to 'fly' the drone with the stability of a cinematic platform. It is the best of both worlds: the smooth, professional look of a stabilizer-equipped drone and the immersive, dynamic movement of FPV flight.
Why FPV Matters
Traditional videography often feels disconnected. My FPV fly-throughs are designed to bridge that gap. By capturing your property in one continuous shot, I help guests or buyers feel the flow of the room, from the entrance to the finest decor details. It is about replicating the experience of walking through the door, not just seeing a static picture.
The Final Touch: Color Grading
Capturing the raw footage is only half the battle. Every property has a unique 'vibe'—sometimes it is the warmth of a sunset in the hills, other times it is the crisp, modern feel of a city cafe. My editing process focuses on color grading to enhance these natural emotions. I balance the contrast, adjust the shadows, and bring out the vibrancy of the surrounding landscapes to ensure your space stands out on social media feeds.
Reliability and Safety
I never compromise on safety. Using high-quality iFlight straps and reliable transmitters ensures that every flight is secure, especially when flying through tight indoor spaces or near delicate architecture. Whether we are shooting in the mountains of Uttarakhand or a cafe in Gurgaon, my gear is always prepped to capture the story without interruption.
Kumar
Hey, I'm Kumar. Gurgaon is home, but my mind is usually wandering through the mountains or scouting new, peaceful corners. I am a complete tech geek who loves the 'before and after' of a great shot—taking a space and giving it that extra glow. If you want someone who geeks out over drone rigs as much as they care about capturing your property's soul, we will get along just fine.
