A home designed for the tropical climate of Belagavi, where we blended vernacular principles with modern structural language to create a sanctuary that connects the family to the outdoors.

This rendering shows the full exterior concept. The design grounds itself with heavy stone walls and a solid base, while the upper floors feature lighter, vaulted forms that give the home its unique contemporary-vernacular character.

A closer view of the entrance and carport. The material palette includes rough-hewn stone, smooth plaster, and vertical wooden slats, creating a rich textural contrast that is both modern and timeless.

The street-facing view of the Belagavi home concept. We integrated landscaping and boundary walls to create a gentle transition from the public street to the private residence, using natural materials to blend the building with its surroundings.

An interior rendering illustrating the split-level design. This approach creates visual connections between different zones, like the dining area and upper-level corridors, making the home feel unified and spacious.

The dining and living space is designed to be open and airy, with large windows and doors connecting to outdoor greenery. The use of natural wood furniture and locally sourced Basalt stone flooring adds warmth and earthiness.

This view from an upper-level bridge shows how light filters through the home. The curved ceiling and stone-clad walls guide the eye through the space, highlighting the interplay of volumes and materials.

A 3D animated model showing the massing and spatial organization of the Belagavi home. This visualization helps to understand the building's form and its relationship to the site from multiple perspectives.

An architectural elevation drawing of the home. This technical illustration details the vertical composition, including the vaulted roof forms and the placement of windows and screens.

This drawing provides another elevation view, detailing different aspects of the facade and its material composition. Such drawings are a crucial part of our design process, translating concepts into buildable instructions.

A cross-section drawing that reveals the interior spatial arrangement. It shows the split-levels, the double-height spaces, and the unique curved volume that connects different floors, allowing for light and air circulation.

About The Belagavi Home: A 'Glocal' Vision

Notice the vaulted roof profiles and split-level floor plates—these aren't just for dramatic effect. In a climate like Belagavi, this volumetric control creates a natural stack effect, allowing warm air to rise and escape while drawing cool breezes through the living spaces without relying heavily on artificial cooling.
