Two young explorers with braided hair, peering intently into a bug jar. It's a moment of shared discovery, learning about the small creatures that inhabit our world.

From a camouflaged stick insect to a colorful beetle, our insect walks are full of exciting finds. We teach kids how every creature, big or small, plays a vital role in the ecosystem.

"Can I touch it?" Watching a child's apprehension turn into gentle curiosity as they hold a millipede is why we do what we do. It's about fostering a fearless connection with nature.

A magnifying glass can turn a simple flower into a whole new world to explore. We encourage kids to look closer and discover the hidden life all around them.

About Insect & Bug Safaris: A World of Tiny Wonders

We don't just talk about bugs; we provide the right tools for the job. Every child gets a child-safe magnifying glass and a ventilated bug viewer to safely examine finds—from jumping spiders to jewel beetles—without any pressure to touch anything. We teach them to observe, document with our scavenger sheets, and release every little friend exactly where they found them.

Why a Mini-Safari?

It is easy to miss the life teeming in our urban green spaces. We curate these sessions to turn parks, whether in Bengaluru, Pune, or Mumbai, into classrooms without walls. When a child holds a bug viewer for the first time, that shift from "eww, that's creepy" to "wow, look at those patterns" is why we do this.

What We Actually Do

Our naturalists lead small groups, focusing on patience and quiet observation. We aren't hunting for rare, exotic specimens; we are looking for the everyday marvels—the carpenter ants building tunnels, the beetles camouflaged in the undergrowth, and the pollinators visiting local wildflowers.

  • Safety First: Kids learn trail etiquette and how to handle tiny creatures gently.
  • Interactive Learning: Every participant receives a junior naturalist scavenger hunt card to help identify their finds.
  • Parent-Child Bonding: This is a shared activity. We encourage parents to get down on their knees alongside their kids, because nature is best discovered at eye level.

The Practical Bit

Walks last 1.5 to 2 hours. We handle all the logistics—from entry permits at public parks to providing the magnifying glasses and bug jars. All you need to bring is a curious mind, sturdy shoes, and an openness to getting a little dirt on your clothes. Whether it is a weekend morning in a city park or a planned group outing, we keep the pace slow and the learning high.

We are just a group of parents and naturalists who wanted more for our weekends than malls and screens. We love getting our hands dirty, spotting new species in the city, and helping your kids discover the wild, living world just outside your front door.
