Duco and High-Gloss Paint Finishes
Need a smooth, plastic-like finish for your furniture? We specialise in high-gloss Duco painting using professional spray techniques for that flawless, modern look.
Here I am, at work spray painting a large 3D letter with a vibrant blue Duco paint. Using a spray gun allows me to apply a perfectly even coat, which is essential for achieving that signature smooth, high-gloss Duco look.
These table legs were given a super glossy, colourful finish using our specialized coating process. This technique is perfect for creating statement furniture pieces with a durable and eye-catching look.
This video shows the Duco spray painting process on a wall unit. Notice the extensive masking with newspaper, a crucial step we take to protect every surface and deliver a crisp, professional paint job.
A close-up of the finished Duco-painted letters. The surface is so smooth and reflective you can see the light bouncing off it. This is the quality and attention to detail we bring to every Duco project.
Even in the workshop, we find ways to get the job done. Here, a letter 'O' is being prepped for its Duco finish. This behind-the-scenes shot shows the practical side of our custom painting work.

About this collection
Getting a perfect Duco finish isn't just about the paint, it is about the prep. Before we touch a spray gun, we spend hours on heavy grain filling with NC putty and meticulous masking. If your wardrobes or kitchen cabinets have deep scratches or dents, this process completely hides them, giving you that solid, car-paint-like shine.
Many people ask us why we recommend Duco over standard polish. The answer is simple: if you want to change the colour of your wood or hide the grain entirely, Duco is the way to go. Unlike melamine or PU polish that keeps the wood texture visible, Duco acts as a solid, opaque layer. We use it for everything from MDF wardrobes and modern kitchen cabinets to custom signage.
Our Process:
-
Grain Filling: We don't skip steps. We apply heavy coats of NC putty to level out the surface and fill any cracks.
-
Priming: A grey surfacer goes on first to create a neutral base so the final colour pops.
-
Spray Application: We use pneumatic spray compressors to avoid any brush marks. It is like a factory finish in your own home.
-
Buffing: Just like a car, we finish it with a light cutting and rubbing process to get that high-gloss, mirror-like sheen.
Whether you want a modern matte grey for your TV unit or a vibrant gloss for a custom piece, we ensure it is durable. It is a bit more work than standard painting, but for that sleek, modern aesthetic, it is worth it.
