How We Build Confidence Through Speech

Public speaking is a life skill that starts early. At our Montessori center in HSR Layout, we view Show & Tell as a core developmental activity rather than a simple class routine. By giving children the autonomy to choose their topics—from the lifecycle of a caterpillar to the planets in our galaxy—we encourage them to research, observe, and organize their thoughts.

The Montessori Approach to Presentation

Unlike traditional settings where children might memorize a script, our students are guided to speak from their own understanding.

• Vocabulary Development: Kids describe their props using their own words, which naturally expands their vocabulary.
• Cognitive Clarity: They learn to sequence their ideas, understanding the relationship between the facts they share and the questions they answer.
• Peer Learning: When one child presents on the monsoon, their peers are not just spectators; they are actively learning through their friend's research, experiments, and creativity.

This process is supported by our NPS-mentored curriculum, ensuring that while the delivery is child-led, the underlying developmental goals are met. We observe each child's pace, offering support where needed to help them move from shy observers to confident stage stars, ready for primary school and beyond.
