Celebrating Our Diverse Culture
We believe festivals are a powerful way to connect children to their heritage. Through hands-on activities, traditional arts, and shared celebrations, we teach the values behind India’s diverse traditions.

About Celebrating Our Diverse Culture
Festivals at our school are never just about a single day of celebration. We involve children in the entire process, as they help string mango leaf torans, mix colors for rangoli, and learn the meaning behind the rituals. It is this hands-on participation—peeling, decorating, singing, and sharing prasada—that turns complex traditions into simple, tangible lessons for a preschooler.
Our cultural curriculum is deeply rooted in respect and inquiry. Rather than simply talking about festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, or Makar Sankranti, we bring them into the Montessori classroom as real-life activities. When we celebrate Onam, children do not just watch; they work together to create intricate pookalams (floral carpets), learning about geometry and color in the process. During Dussehra, we dive into the diverse traditions of different states, using doll displays and storytelling to build a connection with India’s history. This approach ensures that children understand the reason behind the celebration, not just the ritual. We encourage students to dress in traditional attire, sample regional foods, and share in the joy of these occasions. By treating these moments as part of our academic framework, we nurture empathy, curiosity, and a sense of belonging. Whether it is our annual Sports Day or a quiet festive prayer, these shared experiences build the social-emotional foundations that prepare our students for Grade 1 and beyond. We believe in letting children bloom through active engagement, and these cultural milestones are essential to that growth.
Global Montessori Centre and Play Home
We started with a simple idea: let kids bloom, not just run a race. We are mentored by NPS and believe childhood is about building hearts, confidence, and a deep appreciation for the world around us.
