Building a Confident Voice: Public Speaking for Kids
Confidence isn't about being loud—it’s about having the courage to share your ideas. Here, we help children find their own voice through simple, fun activities that turn hesitation into expression.
Our goal is to prepare children for the real world, giving them the confidence to speak on any stage. Here is one of my students preparing for a Model United Nations (MUN) conference, a testament to our focus on practical public speaking skills.
"I am not afraid of mistakes, they help me grow and learn." Watch our little stars recite their daily affirmations. We teach them that confidence comes from believing in yourself and your efforts, no matter the result.
A student recites Robert Frost's classic poem, "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening." Poetry recitation is a wonderful way to practice voice modulation, rhythm, and emotional expression.
One of our students shares her thoughtful perspective on what freedom truly means on Independence Day. Public speaking is not just about talking; it's about sharing meaningful ideas with clarity and passion.
A group of our young learners proudly presenting the national symbols of India. We encourage them to speak with pride and joy, connecting them to their culture while building their presentation skills.
"Dress to impress means wearing nice clothes that make you feel confident and happy." This young student connects his favorite cricket jersey to his feeling of confidence, showing his ability to articulate his thoughts and feelings.
Another student shares his love for the Indian cricket team jersey. We encourage children to speak about topics they are passionate about, as it helps them communicate with genuine emotion and enthusiasm.
Dressed in traditional attire, this student eloquently describes the festival of Diwali. She explains its symbolism and traditions, demonstrating her public speaking skills in a festive setting.
Another take of our student's beautiful presentation on Diwali. Practicing on camera helps build confidence and refine delivery for any public speaking occasion.
We encourage a global perspective. Here, a student confidently presents her knowledge about Australian national symbols, from the kangaroo to the emu.
About Building a Confident Voice
Public speaking isn't about memorizing scripts; it’s about presence. In our sessions, we ditch the podium and high-pressure environment for 'Pick a Chit' games, mirror practice, and mock interviews. Whether your child is preparing for a school MUN or just needs the comfort to speak up in class, we use simple, tangible tools—like handheld mics and smartphone video recording—to help them see their own growth, not just correct their mistakes.
Moving from hesitation to expression
At Nidhi’s Learning Institute, I believe every child has a unique 'awaaz' (voice). My approach to building confidence isn't about teaching kids to act or perform, but about giving them the space to be authentic. We work with children aged 4-14, using a methodology rooted in my Wabi-Sabi philosophy: we embrace the mistakes, the stumbles, and the 'messy' first attempts, because that is where true learning happens.
How we build the foundation
We don't do boring lectures. Instead, our 60-minute group sessions (batches of 6-10) are built around interactivity:
- Playful Basics: We start with voice modulation, expressions, and body language using games that make the process feel like fun rather than a drill.
- Real-World Practice: From mock interviews and 'Podcast Voice' sessions to camera confidence exercises, we prep kids for real-life scenarios, not just test scores.
- Collaborative Learning: I am proud to collaborate with TEDx speaker Deepti Tomar Seth, bringing high-level insights into emotion control and impactful storytelling, adapted specifically for young learners.
Why NLI?
If you are in Rajouri Garden or anywhere across Delhi NCR, we offer both online and offline flexibility. Whether your child is naturally shy or just needs help articulating their thoughts, we meet them where they are. We aren't here to manufacture perfect speakers; we are here to nurture individuals who think clearly, speak with conviction, and carry that courage with them long after they leave our classroom. Let them be themselves—that is where the magic begins.
Nidhi Longani
I’m Nidhi. I believe children aren't projects to be perfected; they’re people waiting to be heard. My goal is to create a space where your child feels safe to stumble, speak up, and eventually, shine.
