Practical Self-Defense Workshops for Everyone
We believe safety is a skill, not a luxury. From corporate team sessions to inclusive training for the visually impaired, our workshops focus on simple, real-world moves that work when it counts.
This video highlights our self-defense workshop organized for visually impaired women and girls. In partnership with community organizations, we provided hands-on training in a supportive environment, proving that safety skills are accessible to all.
Learning to punch correctly is the first step in self-defense. This clip shows Part 1 of our session with the Blind Persons' Association, where we taught the fundamentals of a proper punch, focusing on tactile instruction and body mechanics.
A look inside our self-defense session for the blind, held in collaboration with the BPA. Our instructors guide participants through various techniques, ensuring every step is safe, understood, and empowering.
About Self-Defense for All: Our Community Workshops
We do not teach choreographed movie stunts. Instead, we focus on the anatomy of a strike, how to break free from a grab, and simple vocal conditioning to handle high-stress situations. Our approach is practical and designed to work for everyone, regardless of your previous experience or physical ability.
At Gojudo Karate Training Academy, our philosophy is simple: 'The more you sweat in the dojo, the less you will bleed in combat.' We strip away the unnecessary noise to teach survival skills that are accessible, effective, and tailored to the specific needs of our participants.
Why Our Workshops are Different
We don't believe in one-size-fits-all. We adapt our curriculum based on the group:
- For Corporate Teams: We focus on commute safety, boundary setting, and de-escalation techniques that are useful in a professional environment. We bring the session to your office to make it a practical, high-energy team-building experience.
- For The Visually Impaired: We have developed a specialized curriculum with the Blind Persons Association, focusing on tactile learning, auditory cues, and physical confidence. Safety is about awareness, and we ensure everyone gets the support they need to feel empowered.
- For Women's Safety: We teach realistic escape moves—like using everyday objects like pens or bags, and knowing exactly where to strike to create distance during an emergency.
We train in our Prabhadevi dojo, but we frequently travel to housing societies, terraces, and corporate offices across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area. Whether you need a short, punchy session or a longer workshop, we are ready to teach. We emphasize the basics because, under pressure, simple and fast is what saves you.
