Advanced Karate Techniques & Conditioning
We don't believe in shortcuts. At our academy, we push you beyond basic stances to master explosive power, agility, and the mental toughness required for real-world combat.
Our training isn't confined to the dojo. Here, a student takes on an outdoor rolling challenge, building functional strength and adaptability in a natural environment.
This is the "Bunty Jump," a unique combination of a low-ground roll and a front kip up. Named after Senpai Bunty, this technique teaches students to use momentum and control to navigate difficult terrain.
A throwback to 2011, this video shows a young student from our Lalbaug dojo demonstrating a "Tachan Bag" jump. We encourage students to push their physical boundaries from an early age.
Can you do this? Senpai Vicky demonstrates the kip up, a challenging exercise that builds core strength and explosive power. We challenge our students to master these advanced movements.
Conditioning is crucial for any martial artist. This video shows a conditioning session from our 48th Karate-Do Camp, where students engage in partner drills to build stamina and physical toughness.
About Advanced Techniques & Conditioning
We don't just teach the mechanics, we build the engine. You will see students mastering the 'Bunty Jump'—a technique born right here in our Lalbaug dojo to handle uneven surfaces—and pushing through high-intensity sand sprints at our annual Bordi camp. It is about teaching your body to adapt, whether you are facing a competitive opponent or navigating rough terrain.
Training Beyond the Basics
Advanced training isn't just about learning new forms. It is about conditioning your body and mind to respond instinctively. Our curriculum includes:
- Impact Conditioning: We incorporate tire jumps, shin hardening drills, and partner conditioning to desensitize impact points and increase stamina.
- Weaponry (Kobudo): Learn to handle the Bo staff and rope fighting techniques with precision. These sessions focus on defensive postures and counter-attack timing.
- The 'Bunty Jump': A signature move invented by our seniors to overcome uneven floor textures. It combines a low-ground roll with a front kip-up to generate explosive momentum.
The Bordi Camp Experience
Our residential camp at Bordi is where the theory turns into reality. Away from the city, we spend four days focusing on:
- Beach Training: Morning runs on loose sand and calisthenics build strength that a gym floor cannot replicate.
- Jiyu Kumite (Sparring): We drill free sparring strategies to ensure you can adapt to any opponent.
- Discipline: From folding your Gi (Shikaku no Gi) to the history of Karate-Do, we ensure you understand the 'Why' behind every movement.
This is not a relaxing retreat. It is a four-day deep dive into discipline, tradition, and physical toughness. You will eat, train, and study together with fellow students, forging a bond that lasts long after the camp ends. If you are ready for the challenge, our dojo is ready for you.
