Eco-Workshops and Nature Education for Schools in Gurgaon

We turn the city's green spaces into classrooms. From nature walks in the Aravali forest to hands-on waste management workshops, we are helping the next generation understand our soil, our trees, and the sukoon that nature provides.

Students from R.J. Anantam School learn the names of native species like Kala Siris and Ghatbor as they plant 2500 saplings with the R1 RCM team, becoming custodians of the Aravalis.

On a rainy afternoon, 70 students from The Shri Ram School Moulsari brave the weather to plant native species at Aravali Nagar Van, a 180-acre degraded forest we are restoring.

A student from The Shri Ram School gets guidance from our team member on how to properly plant a sapling during their drive at Aravali Nagar Van.

Students work together in the mud and rain, their determination to restore the Aravali forest shining through.

Two smiling students pose with the large native sapling they just planted, proud of their contribution to restoring Gurgaon's green cover.

Our team briefs a large group of students from The Shri Ram School under stormy skies, explaining why their work is vital for the region's biodiversity and climate stability.

About this collection

Our workshops at the Samadhaan Hub are not just lectures. We have students get their hands dirty, quite literally. Whether it is learning to mix soil for saplings, identifying native species like Kala Siris, or sorting through e-waste, we focus on tactile learning that sticks. If you are bringing a school group, expect them to walk away with a seed kit and a completely different perspective on what waste actually is.

We believe that change begins with curiosity. Our educational programs are designed to break the disconnect between city life and the environment. By bringing students into the Aravali Nagar Van or the Samadhaan Hub, we show them that the environment is not just a distant concept, but a part of their daily life.

What Students Experience

  • Native Species Exploration: Students learn to identify and plant species like Dhok, Bistendu, and Kala Siris. They understand why these native plants are critical for water retention and biodiversity.
  • Waste Management Skills: We teach the difference between dry waste, e-waste, and recyclable materials. Students learn how to segregate and process waste, turning a daunting problem into a manageable habit.
  • Nature Walks: We take groups through restored corridors, pointing out birds, butterflies, and the subtle signs of life returning to formerly degraded land.

Why Our Approach Works

We focus on 'habitat creation' rather than just tree planting. When a student plants a sapling, they are taught the 3-year maintenance cycle, giving them a sense of ownership over that life. We encourage schools and youth groups to move beyond textbooks and engage with the Aravalis firsthand. Our workshops provide a space to learn, ask questions, and find the calm that only nature can offer.

We are just regular folks who got tired of seeing the green in our city shrink. We started this movement to bring life back to our bundhs and forests, and we believe the most important work happens when we teach our kids to care for the land. We would love to show your students how everything, from the water we save to the trees we plant, connects back to the health of Gurgaon.
