Our Approach to Editorial Portraits
When we shoot, it is rarely just about snapping a shutter. We operate with a 'Sculpted by Shadows' philosophy. Whether we are in our Mumbai studio or on location, we use heavy strobes and modifiers to create depth, avoiding the flat, over-lit look common in standard headshots.
The Process
- Pre-Shoot Concept: We don't wing it. Before the shoot date, we discuss your goals. Are you building a press kit for a new film, or do you need high-fashion images for a brand campaign? We align the styling, wardrobe, and mood board to fit that objective.
- On-Set Direction: The hardest part of a photoshoot is often the subject feeling awkward. Raika acts as your creative director, guiding you through hand placement and eye contact. My job is to capture the moment those directions click into place.
- Technical Precision: We use tethered shooting, meaning you see your photos on a high-resolution screen as we shoot. This allows for real-time adjustments. We know exactly when the lighting or your expression is off, so we fix it on the spot instead of hoping for a miracle in post-production.
Post-Production
Editing isn't just about removing blemishes. We use frequency separation to clean skin while retaining natural texture, ensuring your photos look high-end and cinematic rather than heavily filtered. We deliver files ready for print or digital press use, optimized for clarity.
We shoot across Mumbai and the NCR, and we are available for travel if your project demands a specific environment.
