About Wilderness Skills & Exploration
At our Barapole and Ulavi campsites, you will not just hike; you will learn to read a map, pitch a tent, and work as a team to cook your own meals in the wild. We remove screen distractions to make room for real-world resilience, led by our certified instructors who prioritize safety in every forest trek and river crossing.
Learn Survival, Not Just Sports
Our wilderness camps go beyond simple outdoor recreation. We design our 5-day residential programs to help participants disconnect from their daily routines and engage with the environment through active learning.
What Participants Will Master
- Navigation & Trekking: Move beyond marked paths by learning basic map reading and how to orient yourself using natural landmarks during treks through restricted forest zones.
- Wilderness Living: Gain hands-on experience in tent pitching, knot tying, and a supervised 'self-cooking' session that teaches self-reliance.
- Nature Awareness: With instructors who know the terrain, campers learn to identify local flora, fauna, and bird species, gaining a respect for the ecosystem they are exploring.

Each of our locations offers a unique set of challenges:
- Barapole, Coorg: Located amidst coffee estates, this camp focuses on mountain biking, ziplining, and traversing green valleys.
- Ulavi, Uttara Kannada: A deeper dive into pure wilderness, featuring cave exploration and treks to hidden water streams.
Safety & Certification
We operate as a government-affiliated academy, which means safety is our non-negotiable priority. All activities, from rope courses to river traversing, occur under the supervision of certified instructors. Participants receive an official GETHNAA participation certificate upon completion, recognizing their proficiency in the skills acquired. Whether it is a first-time camper or a regular enthusiast, our programs are structured to build confidence at every stage.
