The Custom Design Process at Genxt
Nothing I make comes off a rack. It all starts with your story and my vision. Here is a look at the process, from fabric selection to the final fitting that brings your outfit to life.
The tools of my trade. This artistic video showcases the scissors, measuring tape, and needles that are the foundation of every bespoke garment I create. It's all about precision and craft.
We've mastered monotones, now we're rewriting the palette. This video announces a move towards new hues and daring contrasts, showing the intricate, colorful embroidery on a new piece.
A raw, behind-the-scenes look for an overseas client. This video gives a quick glimpse of various heavily embroidered and textured jackets, showcasing the bold designs in my studio.
About The Art of Creation
Before we even pick up a needle, we sit down to talk. It is not just about taking measurements, but about figuring out your style and what makes you tick. Whether it is a hand-embroidered sherwani or a sharp tuxedo, I guide you through fabric selection and structure to ensure the final piece fits not just your body, but your personality.
Every garment starts with a conversation. We discuss the event, your role, and how much drama you want in your outfit. I want to know who you are so the design reflects your vibe.
Fabric and Detailing
I hand-pick every textile. From heavy raw silks for your wedding sherwani to Italian wool blends for cocktail tuxedos, the foundation has to be solid. Then come the details like zardozi, threadwork, or structural fusing for that sharp shoulder. This is where the magic happens.
Construction
My team and I build everything from scratch. We do not believe in mass production. We work with canvas construction for blazers and structured tailoring for traditional wear. Everything is made-to-measure, ensuring the fit is precise.
The Fittings
I insist on 2-3 trials for every client. This is crucial for custom tailoring. The first is a calico trial to check the silhouette, followed by the final finish. If it does not look like a second skin, we go back to the drawing board. In a world of ready-to-wear clothing, owning something custom-tailored is a statement. It is about wearing art that has been crafted specifically for you.
