Before we cut your final fabric, we construct a prototype to perfect the fit, ensuring your sherwani or tuxedo falls exactly as it should on your frame. It adds time to the production cycle, but it is the only way to guarantee a silhouette that feels like armor, not just clothing.
From Concept to Silhouette
Every piece at Purusham begins with a conversation. When you visit our Mumbai studios in Santacruz or Borivali, we don't start with a catalog. We start with your story. I want to understand the vibe of your event, the cultural elements you want to respect, and the modern edge you want to project.
The Tailoring Journey
Once we define the vision, the technical work begins:
- Drafting the Pattern: We create a bespoke pattern unique to your dimensions. This is where we account for posture, shoulder slope, and your preferred comfort level.
- The Toile Fitting: This is the most critical stage. We create a mock-up garment to test the fit. You will come in for a trial where we pin, adjust, and refine the silhouette before we ever touch the primary fabric. This eliminates the guesswork of off-the-rack sizing.
- Hand-Guided Craftsmanship: For our 'Amore' and 'Takht' collections, the embroidery is entirely hand-guided. Whether it is Zardosi, French knots, or semi-precious stone tacking, our karigars spend weeks ensuring the motifs are perfectly balanced.
Why the Timeline Matters
Quality cannot be rushed. Our process—from consultation and prototyping to the final hand-finish—takes a minimum of 25 to 30 days. This duration allows us to ensure that the fusing, internal construction, and detailing meet our standards for an heirloom-quality garment.
