About Timeless Black & White Moments
When we shoot in black and white, we are actively looking for the story behind the ceremony. We use our gear to play with light and shadow, highlighting textures like the intricate embroidery on your saree or the subtle, precious expressions of your family during rituals.
Why We Love Black and White
Sometimes, color can be a distraction. By stripping it away, we force the eye to focus on composition, emotion, and the narrative of the moment. We find that this style works exceptionally well for the quieter, more intimate parts of a South Indian wedding—a mother adjusting her daughter’s jewelry, a grandfather watching the ceremony with pride, or the quiet anticipation in the bride’s eyes before she walks to the mandap.
Our Technical Approach
Shooting for black and white is a distinct process. It is not just a filter we apply later. When we are on the ground with our Nikon Z-series cameras, we are specifically looking for high-contrast scenarios, harsh sunlight, or soft, directional light that will translate well into monochrome. We aim to capture images that feel classic and timeless, ensuring they remain relevant for generations, much like the old family photos you might have in your own home.
Integrating Into Your Album
We don't recommend an entire wedding album in black and white. Instead, we weave these images into your final collection alongside our vibrant color photos. They serve as emotional anchors, providing a stark, beautiful contrast that stops the viewer from simply flipping through the pages and encourages them to pause and feel the moment.
