Practical, hands-on techniques for pet sitters and owners. Learn how to turn daily care routines into opportunities for connection and safety.

Stressful walks can ruin the boarding experience for both the dog and the sitter. I demonstrate how to teach loose-leash walking as a team effort, turning walks into a calm, enjoyable, and safe activity, no matter the dog's size or energy level.

Knowing how to administer medication safely and without causing stress is a non-negotiable skill for any pet sitter. I'll walk you through several gentle techniques, from hiding pills in treats to direct, calm administration, ensuring the dog's experience is always positive.

Getting a wiggly puppy into a harness can be a challenge. Here’s a simple trick using a high-value treat to make the process quick, easy, and positive, teaching the pup to associate their harness with good things from day one.

Cleaning muddy paws is a daily reality for sitters. Instead of a struggle, you can turn it into a calm experience by using a puzzle bowl or licky mat to keep the dog happily distracted while you clean them up.

The 'Place' command is a lifesaver for creating calm. It teaches a dog to go to a designated spot and relax, which is incredibly useful when guests arrive, you need to open the door, or you just need a moment of peace in a busy household.

Teaching a reliable 'Stay' command is crucial for safety. Here, I show a simple way to practice this command alone, using a tether to ensure the dog remains safe while you build distance and duration.

A proper leash walk is a partnership. Dogs aren't born knowing how to walk politely on a leash; it's a skill we teach them. Consistent practice in different environments creates a harmonious walking experience for everyone.

About this collection

You do not need magic to manage a busy household of dogs, you need a system. Before you rush to fix a dog's behavior, check if your routine is clear to them. Simple adjustments, like using a licky mat while cleaning a dog or learning the 'J' leash shape during a walk, stop the struggle before it starts. This is not about control, it is about making caregiving predictable, safe, and stress-free for both you and the dog.

Professional pet care involves more than just affection. It requires a foundational skill set that many sitters and owners overlook. My Sitter's Toolkit workshop is designed to bridge the gap between 'I love dogs' and 'I am confident handling dogs.'

What You Will Master

  • Leash Mechanics: I teach the 'J' leash shape and defensive handling. These aren't just for control, they are tools for communication, keeping the bond intact during walks.
  • Medical Handling: Cleaning muddy paws or administering pills should not be a wrestling match. You will learn desensitization techniques that make health and hygiene tasks calm, manageable, and even positive for the dog.
  • Daily Operations: Whether you are boarding dogs or managing your own, you need a schedule. We cover space management, such as how to set up your home safely without relying solely on crates, and how to structure a day that balances rest and activity.
  • Crisis Prevention: Learn how to spot stress signals like whale eye or lip licking before they escalate. We also cover practical protocols for emergencies, escaping, or managing multi-dog conflicts.

The Workshop Approach

I offer two ways to learn these skills. My Online Workshop provides the theoretical framework, business protocols, and behavioral science for anyone, anywhere. For those in Bangalore, my In-Person Masterclass in JP Nagar offers hands-on practice, including leash drills, medical administration, and live interaction drills. This is where you get the most repetition and direct coaching. This curriculum is designed for anyone serious about elevating their pet care, from aspiring professionals to parents who simply want to be better equipped for daily life with their dogs.
