Grooming Tutorials for Pet Parents
Learn to groom your pet safely and confidently at home. I share easy-to-follow techniques for bathing, brushing, and nail care that keep your babies calm and stress-free.
Should you shave your cat? This is a question I get a lot. In this video, I explain when it's okay to shave a cat, like for severe matting, and why trimming is usually a much better and safer option.
Clipping your cat's nails at home can save them the stress of a trip to the vet. I'll show you how to gently press the paw pad to expose the claw and only trim the very tip, avoiding the sensitive quick.
Did you know cats have whiskers on their legs? These are called carpal vibrissae and are vital for sensing their environment. This is why I teach my students to never shave a cat's full leg area.
This is a full grooming process for a domestic long-hair cat named Gigi. I walk you through each step, from nail clipping and ear cleaning to bathing and drying, showing how to handle a cat that is anxious about the dryer.
It's best to introduce your puppy to grooming between 10 to 12 weeks old. Early, positive experiences with a professional groomer will help them feel comfortable and secure with the process for life.
Never shave a double-coated dog like a Husky. Shaving can permanently damage their coat, which is designed to protect them in both hot and cold weather. Regular brushing is the key.
Seasonal shedding is normal, but the right tool can make a huge difference. I recommend the Kong Zoom Groom brush for short-coated dogs and cats to help remove loose hair and stimulate natural oils for a healthy coat.
About this collection
The biggest hurdle isn't the tools—it's your pet's anxiety. In my sessions, we focus on reading those subtle stress signals before they become a problem. You’ll learn exactly how to handle your baby during a nail trim or ear cleaning so they stay relaxed and you feel confident, not nervous.
Grooming is more than just a haircut. It is a language of love, a way to build trust and ensure your pet's health. I started these tutorials because I want every pet parent to experience that connection, or as I call it, barakh (blessing), without the stress of constant salon visits.
What You Will Learn
My approach is built on gentle handling. I teach you how to prioritize your pet's comfort over speed or vanity. Whether you have a double-coated Husky that needs proper brushing or a cat that hates the sound of a dryer, these sessions cover the reality of home grooming:
- Safe Nail Clipping: Learn to identify the quick to prevent bleeding and keep your pet calm during the process.
- Coat Maintenance: Master the art of brushing to prevent matting, especially for long-haired breeds, without damaging their natural fur texture.
- Hygiene Basics: Discover the right way to clean ears and manage tear stains using the correct products and a soft touch.
- Bathing Science: Understand the frequency, water temperature, and drying techniques that prevent fungus and skin issues.
Why Start Now?
I often tell my students: thoda playtime, thoda treats, and a lot of patience. My online classes are designed to be practical. We cover everything from choosing the right slicker brush to handling cat behavior during a bath. You don't need to be a professional groomer to keep your pet clean and happy. You just need the right guidance. If you are ready to learn how to handle your baby with the care they deserve, I am here to help you get started.
