I never use moulds. Every figurine you see here is sculpted entirely by hand, built from the ground up to capture specific expressions and details. It is a slow, meditative process that turns plain sugar paste into characters with real personality.

Here is a quick look at how I sculpt realistic legs from sugar paste. Understanding anatomy is key to creating believable figurines, a skill we practice in my classes.

A close-up of sculpting tiny toes. It's these small details that bring a figurine to life. This is a technique I love to teach.

A work-in-progress video of sculpting hands. This is often one of the most challenging parts, but I break it down into simple, manageable steps in my workshops.

About The Sculpting Process

When you watch these videos, you see the foundation of my work: anatomy. Whether I am sculpting tiny toes or shaping expressive hands, the secret lies in understanding how structure works, even in sugar. In my workshops here in HSR Layout, I teach you to build these forms from scratch, so you can stop relying on generic silicone moulds and start creating characters that truly look alive.
