Is your child wearing the right shoes for football? Our coach explains the difference between studs for natural grass and flat trainers for artificial turf to prevent injury and improve performance.

Is your kid wearing the right shoe for football? This guide will help you choose the right one for your child.

Football is a game of sprints, turns, and hard kicks. The right shoe provides traction, ankle support, and impact protection, allowing your child to play worry-free.

The right tool for the right job makes growth easier. The wrong shoe can lead to mistakes, bad performances, and slow growth, without any fault of the child.

There are different shoes for different ground types. Here is a list of the main types: Firm Ground (FG), Artificial Ground (AG), Indoor, and Mixed Ground (MG).

For natural grass pitches, shoes with studs (Firm Ground) are ideal. They provide the necessary grip and stability to prevent slipping.

For artificial grass, shoes with shorter and more numerous studs (Artificial Ground) are best. They provide better traction on artificial surfaces.

We are proud to have a nutrition program led by clinical dietician Kanikka Malhotra. Good nutritional habits give your child an extra boost in strength, stamina, speed, and even decision-making.

How does hydration help beat pollution? Our nutrition partner explains how drinking water helps flush out toxins, protects the respiratory system, and improves performance, especially in polluted air.

What should parents do for basic strains and sprains? Our physiotherapy partner, Dr. Mohit Chaudharyy, explains the RICE protocol: Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation.

About Expert Guidance for Parents & Players

Choosing the right shoe is the first step to avoiding injuries on the pitch. If your child plays on natural grass, they need studs for traction. On artificial turf, flat trainers or specific AG (artificial ground) soles are essential to prevent ankle rolls and slips. It is a small change, but it makes a massive difference in their comfort and confidence during those quick turns.

Gear Up for Success

Football is a game of constant sprints, sharp turns, and hard kicks. Using the wrong shoe does not just impact performance, it causes unnecessary fatigue and injury. Whether your child is training in a gated society or a public park in Gurgaon, identifying the surface is key. Firm Ground (FG) shoes are for natural grass, while Artificial Ground (AG) or flat trainers are built for synthetic pitches. Using the right tool makes growth easier, and less painful, for your child.

Fueling the Athlete

We believe high-performance football starts in the kitchen. Our nutrition program, led by clinical dietician Kanikka Malhotra, focuses on long-term eating habits rather than quick fixes. Proper hydration is especially vital for our young players in the region, particularly during pollution season. Drinking enough water helps flush out toxins, keeps airways moist, and reduces inflammation, allowing your child to recover faster after training sessions.

Handling Minor Injuries

Strains and sprains are part of the learning process when kids are active. When these happen, we advise parents to follow the RICE protocol: Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Dr. Mohit Chaudharyy, our physiotherapy partner, emphasizes resting the joint immediately to allow for recovery. Following these simple steps early can prevent small issues from turning into long-term problems that keep your child off the pitch.

At our academy, we treat every session as an opportunity to educate both the player and the parent. Whether it is improving ball control or building mental resilience, we provide the resources you need to support your child's development, both on and off the field.
