Without colour to distract the eye, we look at the shape of your bump, the softness of a touch, and the genuine expressions between you and your partner. We typically shoot these with high contrast studio lighting to create a clean, classic look that will remain timeless in your family album.

There is a special power in monochrome. It forces us to look past the trends and focus on the bond you share. In a black and white maternity shoot, we aren't relying on bright props or colourful backgrounds. Instead, we use dramatic lighting and shadows to accentuate your silhouette and the curvature of the bump.
Styling Your Session
For these portraits, simplicity is key. I recommend wearing solid colours, such as black or white, to keep the focus on you. A well-fitted bodycon dress works exceptionally well, as it helps us capture your shape clearly. We avoid busy patterns or loud prints, as these can distract from the intimacy of the image.
