About Classic & Emotive: Black & White Portraits
Because I come from a background in VFX, I don't just snap a photo and call it done. My black and white edits are crafted to ensure the lighting and skin textures remain soft and natural, even in high-contrast silhouettes. The Session Experience
My Byculla East studio is a private, quiet space. For these sessions, we focus on high-key white or moody black backgrounds. The goal is to capture the 'pregnancy glow' through lighting and shadow rather than props.
We typically spend 1.5 to 2.5 hours on these shoots. This allows us time to settle in, adjust the lighting, and ensure you feel relaxed. You do not need to be a professional model or know how to pose. I will guide you through natural movements—a soft touch on the bump, a gaze at your partner, or a quiet moment of reflection—that feel authentic to your relationship.
Practical Details
- Wardrobe: I have a collection of maternity gowns and drapes in the studio that photograph exceptionally well in monochrome.
- Posing: We focus on curves and silhouettes. If you have specific ideas from magazines or movies, feel free to share them before the shoot.
- Retouching: My VFX background ensures that even in dramatic lighting, your final images look clean, polished, and natural.
