Behind the Scenes: Cinematic Interior Production
A look at the workflow and gear I use to capture architectural spaces and cinematic walkthroughs across Mumbai.
Here I am on a shoot, using a camera on a gimbal stabilizer to capture fluid, walkthrough footage. This technique is essential for creating the cinematic real estate video tours my clients need.
About Behind the Scenes
You’ll notice the 3-axis gimbal in these shots. For cinematic video tours, I prioritize fluid motion over static shots to show how a space actually flows. This stabilization setup is critical for creating the smooth, professional walkthroughs that help properties stand out on listing platforms or social media.
On-site Precision
Getting the perfect shot requires more than just a camera. Whether I am shooting a compact 3BHK or a larger commercial site, my goal is to maintain the integrity of the architecture. I avoid the distortion often seen in wide-angle photos by focusing on vertical line alignment and proper perspective correction during post-production.
The Video Workflow
My cinematic video tours rely on 3-axis stabilization. This removes the shakiness typical of handheld footage, allowing me to do slow, deliberate pans and tracking shots. I sync these movements with the speed of the space, using speed-ramping to transition from wide room shots to tight, detailed vignettes of furniture and decor.
What Happens Before the Lens
Good results start with preparation. I assist with basic styling—straightening cushions or adjusting lighting—to ensure the scene is ready. I shoot for a natural aesthetic, using HDR-balanced techniques to handle the contrast between bright windows and indoor shadows without making the room look unnatural.
Portfolio Consistency
For architects and designers, I provide a mix of wide-angle hero shots and close-up textures. My edits aim for color accuracy, specifically for wood tones, fabrics, and paint, ensuring that what you see in the photos matches the physical reality of the site.
