When shooting vintage themes, I avoid heavy filters because they kill the authentic texture of the materials. I rely on natural light and HDR bracketing to balance bright windows with rustic corners. My goal is to capture the wood grain, the stone floors, and the unique layout so your space feels inviting and real, not just staged.
Vintage spaces often present unique lighting challenges. Older hotels or themed apartments can have deep shadows paired with high-contrast light sources. My process involves HDR bracketing to ensure the details remain crisp across the entire frame. I bring a full-frame mirrorless camera and 16-35mm wide-angle lenses specifically to handle these interiors without stretching or distorting the room's scale.
My approach is about translating the mood—the warmth of antique furniture, the grit of stone, and the intention behind the design—into an image that conveys the feeling of being there. During the shoot, I assist with basic staging, ensuring cushions and curtains are aligned to maximize the symmetry of the room.
For architectural design portfolios, I offer a more intensive service that includes high-end retouching. This covers the removal of minor distractions like switchboards or stray wires, ensuring the final images meet the standards required for magazine features or award submissions.
