Behind the Scenes: How We Create Your Portraits
People often ask what a shoot with me is actually like. Here is a look behind the lens at how we build the comfort and connection necessary to capture your true story.
The process often starts with small, thoughtful details. Here I am helping a client with a final touch up before we begin her portrait shoot at her home.
Here is a look at a studio session for a creative branding portfolio. We used a simple white background and focused on creating a connection to capture her unique and confident style.
About Behind The Scenes: How We Create Together
A photoshoot should never feel like a stiff performance. Regardless of whether we are shooting at my Malad West studio or your home, I dedicate the first thirty minutes of every session to just settling in. We play some music, chat, and get comfortable, so when I finally pick up the camera, the images show you, not just a pose.
When you book a session with me, we are not just locking in a date. We begin with a strategy call to figure out what you want to convey, whether you are an entrepreneur building a personal brand or an actor needing a fresh portfolio. By the time we actually meet, the groundwork is already laid.
My process is a hybrid approach. If we are in the studio, we use controlled, professional lighting to get those crisp, clean results. If we are on location at a cafe or your home, we lean into natural light to keep the mood relaxed.
Common Questions about the Process
- Do I need to be a model? Absolutely not. My job is to guide you through small, natural movements so you never feel stiff or awkward. We keep the conversation going and capture the moments in between the poses.
- What about wardrobe? We plan this together during our consultation based on your brand archetype or the look you want to achieve.
- Where can we shoot? My studio in Malad West is fully equipped for headshots and branding. However, I regularly travel for shoots. Whether you are in Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Ranchi, we can make it work.
My goal is always the same: to document who you are right now, not who you think you need to be for a camera.
