About Getting Started: New Gear & First Wins
While you see our advanced skaters unboxing high-end carbon frames in these photos, please remember that every champion starts with the basics. Whether you are a child or an adult, your first week should be about mastering your balance on standard quad skates and learning to fall safely. We insist on full safety gear for everyone because confidence comes from knowing you are protected while you learn.
Starting your skating journey is about building the right foundation, not just buying the flashiest equipment. At Esther Roller Skating Club, we structure our beginner programs to help you find your rhythm at your own pace.
The Progression Path
We typically start all beginners on quad skates. They provide a wider base of support, which helps you learn weight distribution and balance before you transition to inline skates. Once you have built enough ankle strength and confidence, our coaches will assess your readiness to move up to higher-performance gear, like the lightweight carbon frames you see here.
Where We Train
We operate at two primary locations in Bengaluru. You can join our weekend sessions at the PLaY Arena on Sarjapur Road or the rink at St. Francis School in Koramangala. Both venues provide the open space needed for drills.
What to Expect in Your First Month
We offer a Weekend Starter package if you want to test the waters, or a Standard Weekend Batch if you are ready for twice-a-week training. The standard batch is often better for muscle memory retention because you skate on consecutive days. In every session, we mix on-skate practice with off-skate fitness, focusing on exercises like lunges and planks. This ensures your body is strong enough to handle the demands of skating, reducing the risk of injury.
Remember, no matter what gear you wear, the most important tools you bring to the rink are your focus and your willingness to listen. We have coached over 10,000 skaters since 2005, and we know that the first time you glide without holding onto anyone is a feeling that never gets old.
