Sustainable Botanical Garden Wedding Decor
Imagine an open lawn transformed into an emerald sanctuary. This design story celebrates how we replaced floral excess with living greenery and innovative wire-mesh structures to create a grand, eco-conscious wedding experience in Mumbai.
A truly magical moment as the couple shares a kiss on a reflective aisle, surrounded by lush greenery and celebratory sparklers. The grand floral chandelier above them adds a touch of breathtaking drama.
The ceremony space was defined by these ethereal, chapel-like arches constructed from white wire mesh. This innovative structure created a sense of grandeur and openness, allowing the sky to be part of the decor.
The aisle, lined with abundant white flowers and greenery, leads to a magnificent stage. The reflection of the massive baby's breath chandelier on the mirrored walkway creates a stunning, dreamlike effect.

Inside the wire-mesh chapel, magnificent crystal chandeliers hang above a floor of hand-painted tiles and are surrounded by potted palms and white floral arrangements, blending classic luxury with a botanical garden feel.

About this collection
One detail you won't spot instantly is the structural ingenuity. Instead of traditional floral backdrops that fade after a day, we utilized custom wire-mesh arches to build height and grandeur. These structures allowed us to frame the sky and greenery, ensuring the decor remained alive and structural rather than just a fleeting wall of cut flowers.
When I designed this Botanical Garden concept at Korakendra Grounds, my goal was to shift the definition of luxury. Grandeur is often equated with the volume of cut flowers, but for this event, we invested in architectural integrity instead.
Why This Approach Works
We utilized thousands of potted plants to create dense, living walls that provided both a fresh scent and a deep, immersive green palette. The chapel-like arches were hand-crafted from wire mesh, creating an airy, skeletal structure that felt massive yet transparent. By focusing on these elements, we avoided the massive waste often associated with single-use floral installations.
The Design Philosophy
This setup is not just about aesthetics. It is about longevity and responsibility. Using reflective aisles and crystal chandeliers against this raw, botanical backdrop created a contrast between refined elegance and organic simplicity. We proved that opulence does not have to be wasteful.
