Creative & Makery Workshops for Families
Step into our Maker Space, where the focus isn't on creating the perfect art piece, but on the messy, joyful, and real process of building, painting, and learning together.

About Creative & Makery Workshops
Our sessions move beyond pre-made craft kits. We provide industrial-grade tools, raw materials like treated pine wood and clay, and the freedom to experiment. You aren't here to leave with a museum-quality piece; you are here to watch your child approach a problem, see how they navigate a design challenge, and support that spark in real-time.
The Makery and Atelier at our Panathur campus exist because we believe that the best family memories come from doing, not just observing. When you join our weekend workshops, you are stepping away from screens and into an environment designed for tactile exploration.
Why We Focus on 'Making'
We strip away the pressure of the final product. Whether you are woodworking or printmaking, the goal is to practice decision-making and persistence. If a wooden toy doesn't balance on the first try, we don't fix it for the child. We show them how to adjust the design. This process builds the kind of resilience and problem-solving ability that textbooks cannot teach.
What to Expect at a Workshop
Each session is guided by a maker educator with a 1:5 ratio to ensure safety while using power tools, carving equipment, or robotics sensors. We focus on:
- Design Thinking: A short briefing on prototyping and ideation before you start.
- Material Mastery: Using real materials—high-grade air-dry clay, pine wood, or robotics kits.
- Family Dynamics: You are the co-creator. We facilitate the activity, but the bond is built by you and your child navigating the mess and the success together.
Practical Details
Most workshops last between 2 to 3 hours. We provide all safety gear, including goggles and aprons. Because these sessions involve hands-on work with tools, we recommend wearing clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Post-session, we keep the energy light with coffee, tea, and cookies as you debrief on what you built. These sessions are designed to be intuitive, so no prior experience with woodworking or art is necessary. If you are a parent looking to trade 'screen time' for 'creation time,' our schedule is updated regularly to reflect our upcoming weekend maker blocks.
Ekya Nava
We believe that learning is a collaborative journey that shouldn't stop at the school gates. By opening our Makery and Atelier to families, we want to help you shift from managing your child's schedule to simply being present with them, whether you are building a wooden toy or experimenting with printmaking.
