Art & Design-Led Dinners
We translate your aesthetic vision into a tasting menu. Food becomes the final brushstroke on your canvas.
The menu is the first chapter of the story. For our Versailles-inspired dinner, the menu was designed with elegant typography, outlining the four acts of the meal: The Gardens, The Patterns, The Banquets, and The Status.
A dish inspired by the gardens of Versailles. We created an intricate, edible green lattice to frame a selection of fresh garden vegetables, evoking the formal patterns of the palace's famous landscapes.
This dessert, composed of delicate meringue spheres, was inspired by the architectural details and sculptural forms found throughout the Palace of Versailles. It’s a sweet nod to classic European art.
The final touch. Here, our chef meticulously pipes a checkerboard pattern onto a dessert for our Versailles-themed dinner. This level of precision and artistry is what defines our culinary approach.
Guests enjoying the candlelit ambiance of our Versailles-inspired dinner. We aim to create an atmosphere that is not just beautiful but also warm and engaging, where good food and good conversation can flow.
The warm glow of candlelight reflects in the mirrored arches, creating an intimate and opulent atmosphere. This was the setting for our dinner celebrating the art and design of Versailles.
Behind the scenes at our art-inspired dinner at Galerie Isa. This video shows our team meticulously plating each course, translating the colors and forms of the surrounding artwork by Annie Morris and Idris Khan into a culinary masterpiece.
A dish inspired by the "Stack" sculptures of Annie Morris. This hollowed-out bread sphere, filled with a light mousse, mimics the rounded, precarious forms of her iconic artwork.
Plating is a performance. Here, our chef carefully places the final elements on a dish of tortellini in a lavender-hued sauce, created for our dinner at Galerie Isa. Each plate is composed with an artist's eye.
These vibrant green discs are another example of our food-as-art philosophy. The minimalist presentation on slate grey plates allows the color and form to stand out, echoing the abstract art that inspired the menu.
About Art & Design-Led Dinners
Our process begins weeks before the event. We visit the venue to pull color palettes, textures, and structural themes directly from the space. For our plating, we focus on the interplay between the dish and the tableware, ensuring that every course feels like it belongs to the room.
At Eat Drink Design, we treat the table as a stage. Our art-inspired dinners are not just about feeding guests; they are about extending the visual language of your event onto the plate. Whether it is mimicking the sculptural stacks of an Annie Morris piece or reflecting the regal lines of Versailles, our team works to ensure the food is an extension of the surroundings.
Collaboration is core to how we work. We partner with interior designers, architects, and artists to align our menu concepts with their creations. If you are hosting at a gallery space or a uniquely designed home, we want to know the story behind that room. We do not just serve food; we design an experience where the menu, the lighting, and the serving gear create a cohesive narrative.
We offer both plated tasting menus for intimate settings and fluid, roaming food formats for more social gatherings. Everything from the paper texture of our menu cards to the specific glazing on our stoneware is chosen to match the theme. If you have a specific artistic direction in mind, reach out to us and let us start the conversation.
