For these conceptual shoots, we move beyond standard posing. Whether we are using studio powder effects to create texture or capturing the scale of a landscape, the focus is on a specific mood rather than a traditional portrait. We will spend time setting the light and the scene before we ever click the shutter, ensuring the final image is a piece of art that tells your story.
Moving Beyond the Surface
If you are looking for a standard passport-style headshot, this isn't it. My fine art photography is about atmosphere, lighting, and narrative. I work with two distinct approaches in this space:
The Outdoor Dramatic We head to Bangalore’s rocky outcrops or secluded forest patches. These sessions are about scale—placing you within the landscape to create a sense of solitude or power. We rely on natural light, chasing the golden hour or the moody, grey skies that add drama to the frame.
The Conceptual Studio In a controlled environment, we can experiment with movement and texture. I often use elements like powder, gels, or minimalist silhouettes to create images that feel like paintings. This requires patience and collaboration to get the timing of the movement right.
How We Create Your Image
- Pre-Shoot Collaboration: For these conceptual sessions, the planning is as important as the shoot itself. We will discuss the 'vibe'—are we aiming for something dark and moody, or airy and ethereal?
- The Process: You don't need to know how to pose. I will guide you into shapes that work with the light, not against it. My retouching process is meticulous, ensuring the colors and tones match the mood we defined during the shoot.
- The Deliverables: Because these images are art-grade, I focus on quality over quantity. You receive fewer high-end images that have been processed to enhance the atmosphere and texture, making them suitable for portfolios or personal prints.
