Nature is Our Playground

In our RMV 2nd Stage garden, we turn messy, hands-on outdoor exploration into early skills. No stiff desks, just nature-led learning.

Our little explorers get up close with nature, like these two discovering the mini-ecosystem in our water lily pond. We encourage this curiosity, which is fundamental to our nature-based learning approach.

Bringing stories to life! We found a real-life "very hungry caterpillar" in our garden, giving the children a tangible connection to the beloved book by Eric Carle and a lesson in insect life cycles.

A hands-on lesson in where our food comes from. During a farm visit, our littles got to see and touch strawberry plants, learning to identify ripe red berries, unripe green ones, and delicate white flowers.

We create small worlds for big imaginations. This homemade pond becomes a stage for endless stories, as children engage in pretend play with animal figurines, learning about different habitats and ecosystems.

We teach our children to care for all creatures, big and small. Setting up a simple bug bath with pebbles gives thirsty bees and dragonflies a safe place to drink, fostering empathy and an early love for conservation.

Let's bee friends! Our garden is a buffet for local pollinators. We use these moments to teach children about the important role bees and other insects play in our ecosystem and food supply.

Our indoor spaces are just as inspired by nature. This beautiful cloud mobile in our Looking Room was created to reflect our term's theme, bringing the outdoors in and creating a calm, magical environment for learning.

From observing flowers and bugs to playing with our miniature pond, every day is an opportunity to connect with the natural world. These activities are central to our curriculum, encouraging observation and a love for nature.

About Nature is Our Playground

Here, the garden is a living laboratory where your child does not just look at a pond. They build it. We keep our batches small, so whether it is mud mixing or hunting for caterpillars, your little one gets the space to get truly grubby without you ever worrying about the cleanup.
