Sangeet, Receptions & Afterparties: DJ and VJ Performances
I blend technical electronic sets with live percussion to keep the energy high from the Sangeet stage to the afterparty floor.
The energy at this pre-Holi party in Pushkar was electric. I worked with a live percussionist to create a non-stop rhythm that had the whole place moving.
Dropping some Marwadi beats for the afterparty. It's always about reading the crowd and giving them the music that connects, keeping the energy high until the very end.
The afterparty is when we can truly let loose. Here, the combination of my DJ set and live percussion kept the dance floor packed and the energy soaring late into the night.
A glimpse of the afterparty madness. My goal is to create a seamless flow of music that keeps everyone dancing, with visuals that match the high-energy vibe.
The energy level at this DJ night was off the charts. It's moments like these, with the crowd fully immersed in the music, that I live for.
A shot from a lively wedding performance. You can see me on the decks while Dino Banjara is on percussion, a combination that always brings a unique energy to the stage.
Focused on the mix. A clear shot of me at the console during a night event, ensuring every transition is perfect to maintain the party's momentum.
About this collection
My setup goes beyond playing a standard playlist. I use live VJing to sync custom visuals with the music, and for Sangeet or afterparties, I usually bring in a percussionist like Dino Banjara. We don't just hit play; we jam over the tracks, turning every reception into a high-energy rhythm battle that keeps the dance floor moving.
When I'm on the console, my goal is to let the music speak for itself. I don't rely on excessive microphone work to pump up the crowd. Instead, I focus on the technical side—seamless transitions, beat-matching, and blending genres like Bollywood, Punjabi, and Techno. My background is in music production; I spend my time in the studio on Ableton building mashups and edits that you won't hear elsewhere.
For Sangeet and Receptions, I integrate my DJ console with venue-provided LED video walls. I sync motion graphics to the beat so the visual experience is just as immersive as the audio. If you are looking for something more organic, my 'Jugalbandi' sets with Dino Banjara are the standard. We blend electronic house or hip-hop beats with live Djembe, Darbuka, and Bongos to create a unique layer of sound.
Afterparties are where I push the tempo. I read the floor, and if the crowd wants to push into late hours, I switch to deeper House or underground tracks to maintain the momentum. Since I am a resident DJ at Ora Club in Jaipur, I am used to reading a room and adjusting the vibe instantly. Whether it is a high-tempo Sangeet entrance or a late-night reception, we coordinate everything—from the equipment requirements to your specific song requests—during our pre-event consultation.
Ashutosh Verma
I am the quiet one behind the console, mostly because I am busy focusing on the technical mix. I prefer creating a fresh vibe from scratch in the studio over sticking to standard playlists.
