I bring the tranquility of the natural world to your walls, from serene forest landscapes to detailed wildlife portraits. Whether on interior surfaces or rough exterior facades, I use vibrant acrylics to create immersive, 3D environments that transform your space.

This video documents the process of painting a vibrant bird on a rough exterior wall. It shows the transformation from a blank, framed space to a finished artwork, highlighting my technique for achieving rich color and texture on challenging surfaces.

This video compilation shows several nature-themed murals designed for interior spaces. The works include forest scenes with a 3D "broken wall" effect, creating windows into serene, natural landscapes that transform the room's atmosphere.

About Nature & Wildlife Murals

One challenge with exterior nature murals is the wall surface itself. For these pieces, I use high-grade exterior acrylics that withstand environmental exposure, ensuring the vibrancy of forest landscapes or peacock feathers does not fade against sun or rain. If you have a rough, textured facade, I adapt my brushwork and layering techniques specifically to ensure the 3D perspective remains sharp and clear from every angle.

Nature and wildlife art requires a careful balance between artistic realism and structural integration. When I paint a forest scene or a wildlife portrait, I do not just apply paint to a flat surface; I consider the architecture of the room or building to define the composition.

The 3D Technique

For interior spaces, I often use a 'broken wall' effect. This involves painting an illusion of depth, making a solid wall appear as a window into a forest or a natural habitat. This works particularly well in smaller rooms or cafes where opening up the visual space is a priority. I use specific shading and perspective lines to trick the eye, giving the impression that the wall has receded into a landscape.

Surface Adaptation

My work ranges from smooth indoor walls to rough outdoor cement facades. The preparation changes based on the substrate. For rough exterior walls, I focus on heavy-body acrylics that can fill minor pores and hold pigment effectively. For detailed portraits—like the peacock studies I often do—I prioritize finer, lighter layers of paint to capture the intricate interplay of light on feathers and foliage.

Durability and Maintenance

Every mural I complete, whether interior or exterior, receives a protective coat. For exterior projects, I apply a clear UV-protective varnish to prevent sun damage and weather-related degradation. This keeps the colors vivid even on walls exposed to direct sunlight. When planning your project, I will discuss the base coat requirement. A clean, primed surface is essential for the longevity of the art, and I work with you to ensure the wall is ready before I begin the brushwork.

I am Pratap. I treat every wall as a blank canvas waiting for a story, whether it is a calm forest scene or a detailed study of local wildlife. My training at the Sir J.J. School of Art taught me how to blend color and light to make a room feel completely different.
