Collaborations and Musical Dialogues with Dr. Suma Sudhindra
The stage is only as good as the energy you share with the people on it. These are the moments, faces, and friendships that make every concert truly special.
With my wonderful co-artists after a concert for SPICMACAY at Christ University. Performing with them is always a pleasure.
With my musician friends at a festival at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall. It was wonderful to meet so many friends and enjoy a fabulous concert together.
All set to go on stage at Prayagraj with my team. The energy and excitement before a big performance are always palpable.

A happy, relaxed moment. The life of a musician is not just about being on stage, but also about the quiet moments of reflection and joy.
A big smile next to the poster for my 'Advaita Crescendo' concert. I was so excited for this show and to share our music with everyone.
About Friends & Fellow Musicians
Every performance is a conversation, whether it is a delicate Jugalbandi or a grand ensemble. My co-artists are not just colleagues, they are partners in crafting the musical dialogue you hear on stage. When you book a performance, you are getting that chemistry that comes from years of shared rehearsals, mutual respect, and the joy of creating something new together.
The Power of Musical Chemistry
Music is never a solo journey, even when you are playing the Veena. The magic happens in the exchange of ideas, the split-second nods during a percussion solo, and the way we feed off the audience's energy in spaces like Christ University or Windmills.
Collaborative Formats
- Jugalbandi: This is where the real fun is! I love the challenge of pairing the Carnatic Veena with instruments like the Sitar or Flute. We engage in Sawaal-Jawab, a rhythmic question-and-answer session that keeps the energy high and the audience engaged.
- Grand Ensembles: Sometimes, the music demands a larger sound. Bringing together a group of artists for a 'Pancha Veena' (five veenas) or an orchestrated ensemble creates a wall of sound that is incredibly powerful to witness live.
Working with My Team
Behind every successful concert photo you see here is a dedicated team of percussionists on the Mridangam, Ghatam, or Khanjira. We invest time in joint rehearsals and sound checks to ensure the balance is perfect. Whether it is a traditional temple event or a corporate gathering, I ensure the lineup of artists matches the venue's acoustics and the atmosphere of the occasion. It is all about creating an authentic Carnatic music experience that resonates with everyone in the room.
