Getting a drone camera over a packed stage or concert requires steady hands and zero fear of the dark. Whether it is a high-energy dance performance or a soulful live gig, I capture the scale and the vibe from the best seat in the house—the sky.

Capturing Adnan Sami's fire performance during a live concert. My drone footage adds a grand scale to concert videos, showing the artist, the band, and the impressive stage lighting.

An energetic stage performance by Nikki Tamboli, captured for an event. I work to get clear shots of the performers and the intricate stage design.

Capturing a dance performance by Nushrat Bharucha, highlighting the stunning blue stage lights. My drone can get closer to the action while still providing a wide, impressive view.

A wide shot of Sachin-Jigar performing for a wedding sangeet. This view captures the entire band on stage and the audience enjoying the show.

A drone fly-through of a venue during a performance by Mohd Danish. I can navigate complex spaces to showcase both the performance and the venue's architecture.

A top-down drone photograph of a packed audience during a live event. This perspective is perfect for showing the full house and the energy of the crowd.

About Live Concerts & Stage Performances

Concert lighting is tricky, as it often confuses standard auto-focus settings. This is why I use specific low-light sensor configurations on my DJI Air 3 and Phantom 4 Pro. When I fly over a stage, my priority is keeping the artist in focus while the background lights flash, ensuring the footage is clean rather than a blur of stage colors.

Why Aerial Footage Matters for Live Events

Ground-level cameras capture the performance, but they often miss the atmosphere and the crowd's energy. My drone work fills that gap. By getting top-down shots of the audience and sweeping fly-throughs of the stage setup, I provide a sense of scale that standard videography cannot replicate.

The Low-Light Challenge

Most of the footage you see here was shot after sunset. Concerts involve complex strobes, intense LED walls, and shifting shadows. My workflow involves calibrating my gear's aperture and ISO specifically for these high-contrast environments. I do not rely on auto-modes. I manually track the performance to ensure the artist stays crisp against the light show.

FPV for High-Energy Acts

For festivals and high-energy acts, I use my FPV (First Person View) drone setup. This allows for rapid, fluid movement that mimics the tempo of the music. It is perfect for weaving through stage structures or tracking a performer as they move across a wide stage.

Logistics and Safety

I understand that live events are unpredictable. My process involves a pre-shoot walkthrough to identify safe flight paths and avoid restricted zones. Whether it is a concert in Delhi or a wedding sangeet in Udaipur, I bring backup batteries and redundant gear so the show keeps recording. If you are planning an event, let us discuss the venue layout beforehand so I can map out the safest and most cinematic angles for your stage.

I am Santosh, and if it is flying, I am probably filming it. My drone is basically attached to my hand at this point, and I love the challenge of getting into tight spots at concerts where ground cameras just cannot reach.
