About The Gear & Grounds
The range at Karnala Sports Academy is not climate-controlled, and that is intentional. By practicing on an open-air dirt field, you learn how to adjust your stance and aim for real-world environmental factors like wind and shifting light, conditions you will face in any district or state tournament.
At Drona Archery Academy, we believe the right equipment is the foundation of a good shot. Our gear selection is curated for progression. For beginners, we start with Indian Round wooden bows to master the basics of the T-draw, finger placement, and release. As you advance, you move to our professional-grade recurve and compound bows, the same equipment our state and national medalists use to compete.
Why We Train Outdoors
We do not operate out of a closed studio. Archery is a sport of precision, but it is also a sport of the elements. Our grounds in Panvel are designed to replicate the conditions of a real competition field. Whether it is a cloudy day or full sun, you need to be comfortable shooting in changing environments. This prepares you for the unpredictability of tournament days, where you cannot control the weather or the terrain.
Maintaining Your Form
Our practice sessions focus on consistency. We maintain a shared shooting line where you can observe other archers, from novices to tournament-level competitors. This communal atmosphere allows you to learn from watching others, pick up on different bow styles, and understand the discipline required to hit the target consistently. We keep the equipment maintained and ready, so your time at the academy is spent shooting, not adjusting gear.
