Behind the Scenes: The Art of Saree Draping
A perfect drape isn't just luck, it's meticulous preparation. I focus on crisp pleats and gentle fabric care, ensuring every fold stays flawless from the first photo to the final shot.
The process starts here. This is a look at my bridal saree prepping, where I carefully iron and set the pleats beforehand to ensure a quick and perfect drape on the wedding day.

About Behind the Scenes: The Art of Draping
I prioritize the health of your saree above all else. For delicate silks or heavy Kanchipuram weaves, I use a specific no-heat pleating technique. This means no scorching, no risk to the zari, and perfectly sharp pleats that maintain their structure throughout your long wedding or studio session.
Whether it is a bridal shoot or a brand campaign, the camera catches every detail. A loose pleat or a drooping pallu can ruin a frame instantly. My process begins with a careful inspection of your saree. I look at fabric weight, border stiffness, and how the textile reacts to movement.
If we are shooting, I work closely with the creative director to match the draping style to the mood board. Is it a structured, avant-garde look? A soft, flowing Nivi? I adjust my tucks and pinning techniques to enhance your silhouette, often using hidden padding or specialized clamps to defy gravity without damaging the fabric.
On-set, I do not just drape and leave. I stay on standby to fix the shoulder fall, straighten the waistline, or adjust the pleats if you change poses. I use rust-free pins and fashion tape to keep everything secure against studio fans or outdoor wind. My goal is to ensure you never have to worry about your outfit, so you can focus entirely on the camera.
