About Perfect Lips: Blushing & Neutralization
Lip blushing isn't a one-and-done miracle, and I think it is important you know that. It is a two-sitting process because we need to build the pigment gradually to ensure it settles perfectly on your unique skin tone. That second session, about 45 days later, is where we really lock in the color and fix the shape, so please plan your schedule with that timeline in mind.
Lip blushing and neutralization are essentially about taking away the daily effort of makeup. For neutralization, I focus on color theory—assessing your lip's undertones to determine if we need warm modifiers to correct deep pigmentation. It is a precise, scientific process. For lip blushing, we are not trying to create a heavy 'tattooed' look, but a soft, blurred tint that looks like your lips, just better.
Here is how we work at my Seawoods lounge:
First, we do the mapping. I use the Golden Ratio method with string and calipers to ensure perfect symmetry before the machine even touches your skin. We apply strong numbing cream beforehand, so you are comfortable throughout the procedure. We then use a rotary machine with fine nano-needles to make 3 to 4 passes over the lips, ensuring the pigment is implanted correctly.
The reality of this work is that it requires patience. The color will look quite bold immediately after the procedure, and it will then fade significantly as it oxidizes and peels over the 7 to 10 day healing phase. You will need to use the aftercare balm I provide to prevent chapping. That second session is the most important part—that is when we perfect the saturation and fine-tune the borders.
