Puppy Training Foundations for a Well-Behaved Dog
It is never too early to start building a strong foundation. My puppy programs cover everything from basic commands and house manners to crucial socialization and impulse control, setting you up for a lifetime of success.
This is what 5-month-old Pixel learned in her two-month puppy program. We covered food luring, fun tricks like shake and touch, and teaching her how to settle and be calm on her own.
Recall is one of the most important, life-saving commands you can teach your puppy. Here, we're teaching a young beagle to reliably come back when called, building safety and strengthening her bond with her owner.
About Puppy's First Steps
Don't wait for your puppy to grow out of nipping or jumping on guests. We start immediately with structure, covering crate conditioning, toilet schedules, and basic leash pressure. This ensures you aren't just teaching commands, but actually teaching your puppy how to live in your home as a calm, well-behaved member of the family.
The Puppy Foundation Approach
Training a puppy is not just about teaching them to sit or stay. It is about setting the rules of the house before bad habits settle in. My Puppy Foundation Program spans 6 sessions, typically conducted over 1 to 2 visits per week. Each session lasts 45 to 60 minutes and is designed to coach you, the owner, as much as it is to guide the puppy.
What We Tackle Together
- Toilet Training & Schedules: We create a routine that works for your home, reducing accidents and stress for both of you.
- Crate Conditioning: I help you make the crate a safe, happy space rather than a punishment zone. This is essential for both your sanity and the puppy's security.
- Leash Pressure: We introduce the collar and leash early to prevent the common struggle of pulling later in life.
- Bite Inhibition: Puppies explore with their mouths, but they need to learn that skin is not a chew toy. We manage teething and nipping through clear boundaries.
- Engagement: Teaching your puppy to look at you and respond to their name despite the distractions of a busy household.
Why Start Early
The most common frustration I hear is, 'Trainer ke saath toh karta hai, hamare saath nahi karta.' My goal is to fix that from day one. I show you how to use markers and treats effectively so you can continue the work long after I leave. Whether you have a tiny breed or a large indie pup, training them early builds confidence and a bond that lasts a lifetime. We practice real-life skills that matter, because a puppy that can settle in a crate or walk calmly is a puppy you can take anywhere with you.
