Life of a Dog Trainer: Behind the Scenes & Fun Times
Being a dog trainer isn't just about discipline, it’s about the chaos, the cuddles, and the daily wins. Peek into the real, messy, and joyful life behind my training sessions.
A day in the life of a dog trainer is filled with all kinds of characters. From focused training sessions to goofy moments and lots of fur, I wouldn't have it any other way.
There are two voices I use: my normal voice, and my high-pitched, super-loving 'dog trainer' voice. I'm pretty sure every dog person has one of these.
This is the best part of my job. Being greeted every day with happy wags, sloppy kisses, and pure, unfiltered excitement from my furry clients.
If you have a ball-obsessed dog, you know this look. Channeling that prey drive into structured play is a fantastic way to build engagement and burn energy.
A proud moment for me and my dog Bindiya. Our training work was featured in a special report on the pet care industry on CNBC TV18. She's a true star.
About Behind the Scenes & Fun Times
People often ask if training is all about serious commands and rigid routines. While the work involves focus and technique, the best results actually come when we let our guard down. Whether it’s channeling high energy into a game or figuring out the perfect high-pitched voice to grab their attention, the most effective training happens when you and your dog are actually enjoying the process together.
Many folks assume my day is spent purely in professional mode, correcting leash pulling or refining sit-stays. In reality, it’s a mix of professional coaching and total chaos. Yes, I switch between an authoritative, clear trainer voice and the high-pitched, goofy dog trainer voice that most of us develop because, honestly, it works.
My training philosophy is balanced, which means we work hard but we also play hard. You’ll see me working with ball-obsessed German Shepherds or high-energy Indies. The goal isn't to create robots; it’s to build a bond. When I’m not running formal obedience sessions, I’m helping pet parents understand that leash reactivity training or impulse control can be taught through structured play and games.
Some of my proudest moments aren't just the perfect heel walk—they’re the daily wins. It’s when a rescue pup finally learns to trust, or when my own dog Bindiya gets recognized for her calm demeanor, like when we were featured on CNBC TV18 to talk about the pet care industry.
If you’re looking for someone who takes the science of animal behavior seriously but doesn't take themselves too seriously, let’s talk. Whether you need help with basic puppy foundation or advanced behavior modification, I’m here to help you navigate this journey. It’s not just about commands—it’s about communication. Yeh life hai, bhidu.
