Festival & Special Day Workshops for Kids
We turn cultural festivals and awareness days into sensory adventures. Join us to create, play, and learn through meaningful, hands-on activities.
For Durga Puja, we created this beautiful relief art of Maa Durga's face. The children first embossed the design onto paper and then brought it to life with turmeric and kumkum, connecting them to cultural traditions through art.
Our Christmas celebration included this festive sensory bin with Santa figures, ornaments, and scented rice. It’s a wonderful way for children to engage with the sights and smells of the holiday season.
Inspired by the book "Room on the Broom," we created our own witch's cat for Halloween. This activity combines storytelling with crafting, bringing a favorite spooky story into the real world.
Halloween is a great time for dress-up and imaginative play. Here, a baby explores a bin of "spooky" yarn, enjoying a safe and tactile sensory experience as part of our celebration.
We made this colorful turkey using handprint cutouts to celebrate Thanksgiving. It is a lovely craft that allows each child to contribute a part of themselves to a collective piece of art.
On Earth Day, we celebrated our beautiful planet by making seed bombs and creating Earth-inspired art. These activities help instill a sense of responsibility and love for our world from a very young age.
We celebrated World Elephant Day with fun activities like this "Feed the Elephant" game and painting elephant cutouts. It's a playful way to raise awareness and appreciation for these magnificent animals.
For International Tiger Day, we learned about these amazing big cats and then created our own tiger masks using fork painting to make the stripes. This simple technique creates a wonderful texture and is always a hit with the kids.
We celebrated Shark Awareness Day by making these fun shark puppets from recycled materials. This craft helps children learn that sharks are fascinating creatures and an important part of our ocean ecosystems.
A child proudly displays his creations from our World Chocolate Day workshop. We made chocolate-themed art and even had a little taste, making it a truly multi-sensory celebration.
About Festival & Special Day Celebrations
We don't just teach the history of a festival or awareness day; we make it tangible. Whether it's crafting an elephant mask for World Elephant Day or painting Maa Durga using turmeric and kumkum, your child uses textures, stories, and sensory play to engage with the world—all while you enjoy a space where cleanup is handled entirely by us.
At Doe a Dear, festivals and special days are a springboard for creative, multi-sensory learning. We believe that when children are given the space to explore themes like World Chocolate Day, Shark Awareness Day, or Earth Day through their senses, they form deeper connections to the information and the world around them.
Our Approach to Celebrations
Every workshop is designed with a specific theme in mind:
- Process-Focused Art: We prioritize the experience over the final product. Your child might use fork painting to create tiger stripes or upcycle cardboard into shark puppets. The goal is exploration and confidence building.
- Sustainable & Mindful: We integrate nature and waste reduction into our crafts. On Earth Day, we use clay, seeds, and recycled materials to create art that honors the planet.
- Cultural Connection: Our festival workshops, such as Durga Puja or Halloween, are adapted for young hands. We introduce cultural elements in a way that feels playful, safe, and age-appropriate, helping kids understand traditions through movement, music, and art.
Why Join Us in JP Nagar?
Our center in JP Nagar is built for parents and toddlers to slow down and bond. We keep our batches small, ensuring every child receives the attention they need to flourish. Whether it’s sensory bin time, storytelling, or collaborative mural-making, we provide a structured yet flexible environment where your child can be themselves. We handle the mess—the rice, the oobleck, and the paint—so you can simply focus on making memories with your little one.
Doe A Dear
I'm the educator behind Doe a Dear. I created this space because I believe festivals are the perfect opportunity to spark a child's natural curiosity. I love watching kids engage with the world, whether we're making seed bombs for Earth Day or learning about tigers through art.
