DJ + Live Percussion for High-Energy Events
I combine DJ sets with raw, live percussion to turn any dance floor into a festival. Whether you want a roaming djembe player at your Sangeet or a full drum kit for a corporate rave, I bring the noise.
Here’s a look at the full band in action at a New Year's Eve corporate event. You can see me on the DJ console, with percussionists on both the djembe and a full timbale drum kit, creating a rich, layered sound.
This was a high-energy college festival where I acted as both the DJ and the MC. My percussionist and I hyped up the crowd, making the performance interactive and keeping the energy at its peak.
For more intimate events like this private party, my 'Djembe Tribe' setup is perfect. It features one or two percussionists on djembes, adding a live, rhythmic element that gets guests moving.
About The Beatgurus: DJ + Live Percussion
When I bring a roaming percussionist into the crowd, the party dynamic shifts immediately. It stops being a passive performance where you just watch a stage and becomes an interactive jam session. We use strapped djembes specifically for this—so when the beat drops, it is not coming from speakers ten feet away, it is happening right in the middle of your guests on the dance floor.
How We Switch Up the Vibe
I offer three distinct configurations because every venue and crowd size requires a different approach. You do not always need a full concert rig, but you always need the right energy.
- The Mobile Setup: Best for Sangeets and private parties where you want the percussionist to move through the crowd. This features me on the console and one percussionist with a strapped djembe. It is intimate, high-impact, and keeps people moving.
- The Static Rig: Ideal for larger stages at corporate events or receptions. We bring the heavy hardware—timbales, crash cymbals, and auxiliary percussion like cowbells. It adds a layer of organic sound over the electronic mix that you can feel in your chest.
- The Trio: For when you want the full festival experience. I bring two percussionists: one on the main stage with a full static kit and one roaming with a djembe or Nashik dhol. This fills every frequency in the room.
Why Live Percussion Matters
Electronic music is consistent, but live drums bring the human element. My percussionists are trained to layer rhythms over Bollywood, Hip-Hop, and House tracks in real-time. We are not just playing over the music; we are responding to it.
If you are planning an event in Bangalore or looking to fly us out, tell me about your venue size. I have played everywhere from Udaipur to the Andamans, so I know how to adapt my setup to the space provided. If you have a DJ table and a solid PA system, we are ready to go.
